What made you decide to train with Kim Oddo and Body By O?

I have always dreamed of working with Kim Oddo since I first began reading Oxygen Magazine in 2002. It was 10 years ago when I first saw Lauri Vaniman Turner on the cover of Oxygen with Sarah Lyons. I read that she was a national level figure competitor and her coach was Kim Oddo. Back then I was 22 years old, overweight, and a senior in college. Little did I know that 10 years later I would eventually hire Kim to help take my physique to that next level! Looking back, I think deep down I always knew I would work with him. It was just a matter of time.

What does your typical training consist of?

I weight train four days a week. Currently my schedule is: Monday Legs and Glutes Tuesday Abs and Core, Wednesday Back and Arms Thursday Lower Body Circuit or Plyometrics Friday Shoulders and Abs Saturday Cardio and Yoga, Sunday Rest In the offseason, I do cardio 3-4 days a week. When I’m prepping for a competition I increase my cardio to 6 days a week.

What suggestions do you have for others looking to make a body transformation or compete in a competition?

I would say GO FOR IT! There is no better time to start anything than NOW. If we over think things, that is when we could limit ourselves or start to self-doubt. Usually, we fear the unknown, so if something is different or uncomfortable we tend to resist it or make excuses. This causes us to postpone or delay taking action. My advice is to be patient with yourself and do your best to think positive and move in the direction of your dreams. Life is too short to blame others, so take responsibility for your actions, learn from your mistakes, realize that there is so much to learn out there, and step outside your comfort zone.
